The Jason’s Cradle® is proven to aid in the safe and speedy recovery of man-overboard victims in the preferred horizontal position. They are currently in service globally and are considered a vital piece of safety equipment. SOLAS Approved and guaranteed for 3 years.
We offer four main variations: STANDARD, FRC, STRETCHER AND SCRAMBLE.
STANDARD: (PDF)
- Bespoke Standard Cradle’s range from 530mm to 1050mm Wide and 2290mm to 6870mm Long
- The Standard Cradle is simply fixed to the deck or rail to enable deployment within seconds
- The Standard Cradle can be easily rolled up for stowage
- Deployment of the Cradle forms a non-collapsible scoop
- The casualty is guided into the cradle head first
- A Strop and/or Hauling lines are pulled to close the loop
- A co-ordinated & methodical lift takes place & the casualty is retrieved by rolling onto the deck in the medically preferred horizontal position
FRC (Fast Rescue Craft / RIB): (PDF)
- Two sizes; Small for vessels under 5m, and Large for vessels over 5m.
- SOLAS Type Approved by Lloyd’s Register and guaranteed for 3 years.
- The FRC kit consists of a Jason’s Cradle® with stowage bag and a fixing kit for both sides of the vessel. Fixings options available for RIBS (hypalon D-ring patches) or for hard hull (pad eyes.)
- In deployment, the Jason’s Cradle forms a non-collapsible scoop.
- The casualty is guided into the unit and is retrieved by rolling up and onto the craft in the medically preferred horizontal position.
- The rigid construction and special design give the operator a 2 to 1 mechanical advantage during the lift.
- FRC Kits are available in either 530mm or 710mm width options.
STRETCHER: (PDF)

- Tensile tested in excess of 1 tonne.
SCRAMBLE: (PDF)
- Widths from 1.24m to 2.1m.
- Lengths from 2.29m to 6.87m.
- The Scramble net is simply fixed to the deck or rail to enable deployment within seconds and can be easily rolled up for stowage
- A Strop and/or Hauling lines are pulled to form a non-collapsible scoop and the casualty is guided into the cradle
- The easily accessible foot and handhold make climbing easy for the man overboard
- Large numbers of passengers and crew may simultaneously disembark in the event of an emergency.
